Jockoo is a digital laboratory specialized in conceptual texturing and mapping of finishes on any 3D shape.
With a mix of cutting edge softwares, such as mapping, reventex and reverse engineering techniques developed in the sectors of industrial design and of the most recent cinematography production, Jockoo creates specific computer graphic files which make the object virtually visible. The item will then be finished using a mould textured with the most suitable technology in terms of accuracy, aesthetics, time and costs.

Nova Tex is a leading company in photochemical engraving of exclusive single and multi-layer mould texturing.
Due to the technological know-how acquired over 40 years of experience, Nova Tex offers personalised solutions to satisfy the requests of the most demanding Clients. Chemical photoengraving is applied to moulds for plastic, rubber, fibreglass, glass and die-cast products. Nova Tex has long developed special machining and treatment techniques which allow both photoengraving directly on the surfaces obtained with E.D.M technology, and the treatment of the photoengraved areas with various grades of gloss.

DS4 is a System Integrator that develops and produces systems for the automation of complex productive processes.
DS4 is able to combine the System Integrator activity with the development of various and mutually different core technologies (laser, three-dimensional artificial vision, robotics, automation) which are either integrated into systems or used as stand alone products. 60% of the group’s Clients are important multinational companies. The reinterpretation of the well-known engraving ‘Reptiles’(1943) by Maurits Cornelis Escher was born from the unique capacity of this piece of artwork to depict the working process of Cactooos. A process which follows a precise and defined method in all its phases, described in detail below. Cactooos speaks the language of creativity and gives shape to the most outstanding ideas of the designers.
THE CREATIVE IDEA
Pushing creativity outside the box: this is what Cactooos proposes and offers, for Clients who love to dare and launch new styles. The technologies promoted by Cactooos overcome every limitation, and this allows unexplored creative horizons to be unleashed.
This first phase of the process is the most delicate one: the choice of texture involves great attention in order to make the final product successful by creating a competitive differential. The Style Centres can now draw inspiration from anything: a texture found in nature or an original idea born from their creativity. Cactooos offers advice and guidance from the early phases, to help the designers give shape to their ideas.
DIGITAL DESIGN
Cactooos’s digital process uses the latest and most internationally cutting edge software. Cactooos supports at 360° the Style Centre, working in co-design with it: the digital processing of the creative idea to be converted in a computer graphic file is developed by following the instructions of the designer step by step.
Once the texture is created, it is then mapped onto a digital version of the mould. The Client can check the development of the design at every instant, proposing changes and giving their approval. The digital process concludes with the presentation to the Client of the 3D Render (D.R.E® technology), i.e. a three dimensional file that offers a preview of the object with the texture applied on it. When the 3D Render is approved, the tool path is generated to allow engraving the mould using a mix of the most suitable technologies for the specific job.

DIGITAL DESIGN SERVICES
Co-design - 3D Render - 3D Mapping - Reventex - Prototexturing - Protoengraving.
Co-design: guidance and support of the style centre from the first draft to the engraving of the mould, with technical advice regarding the feasibility of the texture within the project concerned.
3D Render: 3D digital presentation of the product with the texture required. 3D Render is based upon the D.R.E® technology, which generates the engraving machine tool path, ensuring perfect coherence between the digital presentation and the final product.
3D Mapping: 3D mapping of the texture on the digital shape of the mould. 3D Mapping creates a preview of processing, allowing the Client to verify the perfect mapping of the texture.
Reventex: the transformation of any creative idea into a 3D digital file, starting from a briefing with the Client. The point of departure can be a physical sample, an image, even an idea. Reventex technology allows a 3D file to be obtained, which can then be mapped onto any digital shape of the mould or of the final product.
Prototexturing: the possibility of having a preview of the texture on different supports: engraving on a metal sheet, highly copyable silicone cast, moulding of samples using the material indicated in the project.
Protoengraving: the possibility of engraving the prototype in order to present the finished product or sending the product file with the applied texture to the Client so that it can evaluate to send it to its rapid prototyping supplier.

Laser engraving 3D: laser engraving of 3D textures. Accurate reproduction of the texture even in the smallest detail. Recommended for:
• Adornment of products with 3D details
• Products with high added value
• High production items
• Products which require specific textures (anti-slipping effect, natural effect, roughness, soft touch, etc.)
• Moulds upon which the use of etching is not recommended
• Welded moulds
• Multi impression molds
Laser engraving 2D: laser engraving of 2D textures with different depths. Recommended for:
• Adornment of the product with 2D details
• Geometric textures
• Products with high added value
• High production items
• Products which require specific textures (holographic effect, artistic decoration, morphing, etc.)
• Moulds upon which the use of etching is not recommended
• Welded moulds
• Multi impression molds
Micro laser grains MLG: a digital graphic technique which allows engraving of artistic decorations across the entire surface of the mould or in precise areas. The MLG technique plays upon the matte/glossy contrast and requires the removal of a minimum amount of material (from 0 to 0.004 mm). Recommended for:
• Packaging, gifts, gadgets
• Complex moulds with hollows, projections and sharp edges
• Moulds with vertical walls/extraction problems
• Products which require creative and economical graphic solutions
• Moulds upon which the use of etching is not recommended
• Welded moulds
• Multi impression molds
Multilayer laser etching: a texturing technique combining laser and chemical etching. The graphic film is deposited by the laser machine onto the mould according to the instructions of the mapping file. This ensures perfect coherence between the 3D Render file and the mapping of the graphic film. The engraving is achieved by means of chemical etching. The process is repeated many times, using different films, until a 3D effect is achieved. Recommended for:
• Large-scale moulds
• Product with medium to high added value
• An excellent solution for those requiring a 3D finish at a reasonable price
Single layer laser etching: a texturing technique combining laser and chemical etching. The graphic film is deposited by the laser machine onto the mould according to the instruction of the mapping file. This ensures perfect coherence between the 3D Render file and the mapping of the graphic film. The engraving is achieved by means of chemical etching. Recommended for:
• Large-scale moulds
• Geometric textures
Multilayer etching: manual coating of the film followed by chemical etching. Many layers are created in order to achieve a 3D effect. Recommended for:
• Invisible pattern texturing where the manual film coating operation can be hidden
• Large-scale moulds
• Simple geometry moulds
• Products which require creative and economical graphic solutions
Single layer etching: manual coating of the film followed by chemical etching. Recommended for:
• Decomposed textures with an invisible pattern where the operation of manual coating of the film can be hidden
• Large-scale moulds
• Simple geometry moulds
• Products which require creative and economical graphic solutions
Etching grains: glossy effect with VDI finishes. Recommended for:
• Covering moulding defects
• Increasing the product’s resistance to scratches
• Large-scale moulds
• Economical solutions
SPECIAL SERVICES
Laser tracking - Gloss control - Shading - Scratch-resistant - Treatment for EDM.
Laser tracking: technique combined with laser etching technologies. An outline is traced onto the mould using laser technology, which is invisible once the work has been finished. The outline, drawn from the digital shape of the mould, provides a perfect guide for the technician who coats the film manually, and therefore ensures the perfect realization of the work, even on 3D surfaces or unreferenced geometries.
Gloss control: controlling the glossiness of the texture by adjusting the level of gloss, even after the engraving of the texture.
Shading: a technique which allows for the shading of the texture in proximity to the vertical walls or areas which might scratch the product during the extraction from the mould.
Scratch-resistant: an additional texturing process which makes scratches less visible (nail test) on manufactured items mostly subject to scratches (typically in PP).
Treatment for EDM: an additional texturing process which allows chemical etching on areas of the mould treated with EDM (electro-erosion).

The Engineering division designs, customizes and builds machines and plants for automation of complex productive processes. Each plant is designed to be integrated into existing structures and does not require specialised staff for its use. All projects include ROI analysis.
